Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong (born February 8, 1984) is an American actor, comedian, producer, and singer. Strong is well-known for her work as a Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 to 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female castmember during the course of the show's history. Strong was performing Improv at The Second City, Chicago after she graduated from CalArts. Then, she was appointed by SNL. She is currently the host of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! She co-produces (2021 until present).



 



 She also voiced The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) In addition, she has acting in supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters as well as The Meddler. She was also the host for the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2015. Her first novel, This Will All End Soon Soon was published by Random House in 2021.



 



 In recognition of her performance in Saturday Night Live, she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner suburb within the ring area of Chicago. She is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who was an Associated Press bureau chief and as of 2013 ran his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse as well as working at several local hospitals. Strong was the child of divorced parents. Strong loved SNL as a kid performing sketches with her friend and watching older SNL commercials on VHS. "I had an old tape with the best commercials and I would wear it every day." She said that Phil Hartman was a source of inspiration for her.
